Dr Jane Duff is the Principal Investigator for England for a research grant funded through the Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Community Living, National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR), USA. The grant was awarded in 2023 for five years to the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago to lead international research on the Experiences and Outcome of People living with SCI and involves research teams in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, other sites in the USA, as well as the NSIC co-ordinating recruitment for England.
All of the 8 SCI centres commissioned by NHS England are Participant Identification Centres and the recruitment is also supported by the Spinal Injuries Association, the Back Up Trust, Aspire, MASCIP and several other networks.
Further information on this study, including audio, press releases, and the Participant Information Sheet, is available here.
Dr Jane Duff is Chief Investigator for a multi-centre UK wide project involving all of the SCI centres in England and Wales as well as some major trauma centres and spinal hubs. This project involves supporting these services to collect and share the Psychological Health Screening Data recommended by the NHS England Clinical Reference Group and Spinal Cord Psychologists Advisory Group transformation reports and builds on the collaboration between the NSIC, Midlands Regional Centre for Spinal Cord Injuries and Yorkshire Regional Centre for Spinal Cord injuries published in 2023.
